I saw my first robin yesterday. Several had perched themselves on my crab apple tree and were enjoying its fruit. Not one of my best photos, but still such a wonderful site to see.
Family, food, friends, dogs, cats, hiking, nature, photography and my adventures. It's what it's about.

Around the House This St. Patrick's Day
Before the sun showed its wonderful face this morning...
Violet lounged on Spring bedding...
I baked a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies...
and then they felt the sun...
and all hell broke loose when I asked them if they wanted to go for a walk :)
Happy St. Patrick's Day and remember - "If you're lucky enough to be Irish, then you're lucky enough!"
I will be drinking a pint (or two) of Guinness to that this afternoon :)

Longing for Spring
There is nothing I would like more than to be able to enjoy a warm Spring day. I would throw open all the windows, wash the walls, hang my sheets out to dry, pick up fallen branches and get my hands dirty gardening. I have yet to see a robin or red wing blackbird. I miss the sounds and the colors of Spring.

So while I wait, I have decided to bring the colors and scents of Spring into my home. A forsythia wreath adorns my entertainment center, my ironstone pitcher contains a bouquet of Spring flowers, a honeysuckle candle burns and my cut glass candy dish is full of colorful jellybeans (ready for eating :) I will enjoy Spring on the inside, even if it is cold and gloomy outside.

A Wee Bit of the Green
Things are finally beginning to green up around here. It has been a cold, long winter and I cannot say that I will be unhappy to see it go. I think my dogs will agree with me. They bring me so much enjoyment. To most, a walk is just a walk, but to my dogs - it is the world. In turn, it means the world to me.
I hope you enjoyed a wee bit of the green on tonight's walk. Now get out and go for a walk yourself.
Have a great night.
