It's Up and Decorated

We put our Christmas tree up earlier than we ever have and I like it.  I just love looking at the twinkling lights and all the ornaments that I have collected throughout the years.  Each one has a special memory associated with it and it brings me closer to what I believe Christmas really is - connection to those we love.  

This weekend we prepare treats for those we love.

Dave, DJ, and I went out this morning in search of the perfect Christmas tree.

Yep, folks (Lori) that's me - sans the makeup, cute hat :) 

It's the weekend....

Anyway, we searched far and wide and found it.
The perfect tree...

And it's cut and paid for ;)

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

We cut our Christmas tree today. It is an absolutely beautiful day out -- the sun is shining, the skies are blue, and the temperature is perfect. We found a new place to cut the tree (just outside of Lima). An older man and his family run it. They have a really nice black lab that helps and they allow other people to bring their dogs too. One couple brought their St. Bernard. Too cute. I am going to bring Violet next year.

We cut a 9' blue spruce. I noticed it as we driving down the road. I showed it to Dave and DJ and they thought it was great too!!! The whole process took only 15-20 minutes.
