The Weekend

Here it is.
In A Nutshell.
Dropped this kid off at the airport and balled just like a baby.
Felt so sorry for myself that I got myself a pedicure.  (It did make me feel better :)
Finally finished clipping Snoop down (I started clipping him Wednesday).
He smells so much better.
I wasn't finished clipping Snoop down in this photo.
Went for a hike back to the creek.
If Violet looks a little cockeyed, it is because she was shaking off the water :)
Enjoyed the wood's foliage.
Milk Wort

New Growth on Ferns

Dogwood
On Saturday, I mowed my lawn for the first time (Bessie had been at the Lawnmower repair doctor).
On Sunday, I mulched.
I need to wash the little doggie nose prints off my door :)
Enjoyed my lilacs.
They smell wonderful.
Enjoyed the birds.
I did see a Baltimore Oriole on my Sunday morning walk with the dogs, but did not have my camera with me.
Mother Robin
Did some container gardening.
Pansies
Noticed that the Robin's bird nest is on the back of DJ's basketball hoop.
Cleaned off my barn porch.  Rearranged.  Placed my new-to-me round iron table on the porch, got rid of a set of drawers, put a quilt on top of the table, adorned it with a Seagrams Jamaican Me Happy and then polished that baby right off.
Ahhh :)
There you have it.
My weekend.
In A Nutshell :)

Around the House This Sunday Morning

It is absolutely beautiful here this morning.  The sun is shining, the skies are blue and the woods are succulent from the rain we received earlier this week.  I weeded, edged the flower gardens, mulched and mowed the lawn yesterday.  If I do say so myself, I think it looks pretty darn good.  Mulching not only keeps weeds at bay, but I also love the way it makes everything look so neat and crisp...
I am a morning person and I love the way the sun shines down and casts shadows upon my home...
Very shortly, my delphinium will be in full bloom.
I love the blue of this flower...
My herb garden is doing great...
Just look at the sage...
My friends enjoy the morning sun as much as I do...
Good morning Suzie!!!
There's your brother and your sister - Snoop and Violet.
My two best friends.
Doesn't Snoop look handsome with his new haircut?
Don't worry Stripes I haven't forgotten about you.
I am coming to get you.
I am off for a pond sit...
And then it is back to the house...
where I will stop to admire my Radio Flyer wagon and think about my kids...
and then it is back inside...
where I will watch the men's finals of the French Open and then head back to the pond with my suntan lotion, a cool drink (it's supposed to be in the high 80s here today) and a book for the afternoon.
Enjoy the day!

In The Garden

I love to re purpose and reuse items especially when the items have some sort of sentimental meaning to me.  For instance, my children's childhood wagon...
is now a container garden...
and I have once again created new memories to enjoy :)
Go out and make some memories.
But make sure, you have a great time making them.

Phlox

It was incredibly warm today.
Warm enough that my phlox decided to bloom.
A lovely pink ground cover...
that puts a spring in your step...
and a smile on your face :)

The Orchid Show

Dave, my Mom, DJ and I went to the Annual Orchid Show at Sonnenberg Gardens this afternoon.  The flowers were spectacular and well worth the $5.00 admission fee.  The show ran for three days.  It ended today at 5:00 PM.
Let's go for a stroll through the greenhouses shall we.
The orchids come in so many different colors...
Purples...
This one was DJ's favorite...
Reds and oranges...
This was my favorite :)

Beautifully pure whites...

DJ and my Mom reading up on succulents...
 More beautiful orchids...
Such a wide variety...
I thought this orchid was absolutely stunning.
This one screams happiness and Spring to me :)

Stunning pink varieties...

Dave enjoying himself...
This statue looks like she is wearing a scarf made of orchids...
I want a scarf like that.
If you are ever in the area and the show is on, go.
You will be so glad you did.
Have a great night :)

One of the Benefits of Rain

Is that I get to enjoy this view from my kitchen window...
It is my crab apple tree...
and it has never been this lush...
Isn't it beautiful?
Happy Monday :)
