Words of Wisdom

Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told: "I'm with you kid. Let's go."

The Apple Umpkin Festival

Gramma and I went to the Apple Umpkin Festival today.

We had a wonderful time.

We saw pumpkins...

Gramma enjoyed maple sugar candy...

We enjoyed looking at the handmade crafts.
Check out these cute prim ghosts.

Even witches shouldn't be without a wardrobe :)

Clever woodworking crafts...

And who doesn't love puppies :)

Creativity everywhere!!!
Loved this one.

Historical homes...

Some great ideas for around the house...

An afternoon of fun and creativity in good old Wyoming County. You can't beat that.
When you drop Gramma off at Brenda's, you are greeted by this puppy, Pepper.

You can't beat her either:)

I hope your weekend is filled with creativity and happiness.

So What Did I Do Saturday

Well, since you asked...

Saturday morning, I played tennis. Three hours to be exact. Without sunscreen to be exactly. And sunglasses on to boot.

Then I went grocery shopping because my Mom (Gramma), my sister (BrendaFendaMenda), and my nephew (He Who Does Not Want to be Seen) for this post only, were coming over for supper.

This is BrendaFendaMenda taking a picture to send to her BFF Lori...

She's cute isn't she...

Oh look, here she is again. Not one bit camera shy either...

We had corned beef and cabbage (DJ's favorite), beer (I am giving this beer two enthusiastic thumbs up), and chocolate chip cookies (everybody who has eaten them also gives two enthusiastic thumbs up).

This is Gramma. I asked her to smile. She didn't want to.
I said, "Come on. It's for the blog."
She said, "Say something funny to me."
I said, "Tell everyone how you love me way more than your other daughter BrendaFendaMenda."
This is the reaction I got.

I didn't think it was that funny.
I still think she's cute though. However, she did go down a notch.
He Who Does Not Want to be Seen was here also.
The following piece of evidence proves he was here. Obviously, he is not familiar with the legal system as he signed the card with his first name. Silly, silly boy.

Front...

Middle...

Back...

I didn't think the card was that funny either :)

DJ and Aunt BrendaFendaMenda...

After supper, the boys went to the mall.
"What," you ask, "did you girls do?"
Why, we went to another mall :)
And a fun time was had by all!!!

Good Morning

I'm so glad you stopped by.

We're having pancakes for breakfast.

Would you like one?

I have made more than enough.

If you don't want one, that's fine.

Grab a chair, and we'll talk.

What did you think about the US Open last night?

Pretty intense, huh!

Or we can grab a cup of coffe, go outside, and check out my crabapple tree.

The apples are just beginning to turn red.

Maybe, even take the dogs for a walk.

Look, my geraniums are still doing well.

Oh look, there's a Scottie crossing.

I think I see one :)

Enjoy your morning.

I think I'll take a walk.

I Really Want One of These

Just because I do.

But I probably can't have one.

I'll just have to go to the festival instead.

I'll get my fix there and some yarn to boot :)

Don't you want to go too?

First Day of School

My son DJ is a senior this year.

Yeah, that's him over to your right (flickr).

I can hardly believe it!

Why, I remember when he was just just a wee boy...

Now he's a senior!!!

Where does time fly?

Happy first day of school DJ!!!

Drive safe and remember...

Nana - that goes for you too!!

Who's the Birthday Boy?

They don't look a bit alike do they?

I don't think so either - HA!!!

Grandpa John (Dave's Dad) turned 90 on September 4th.

Of course, we had to celebrate!!! We had chinese (flaming chinese, to be exact),

came back,

and peaced out.

That was Friday.
Saturday, we walked around the facility.
Check out the new apartments. Pretty nice, huh!

Practiced our putting skills...

Viewed some beautiful quilts. Such craftsmanship...

Marveled at the residents' gardens...

And then, Frank and Marilyn (Dave's cousin and his wife) came and we went out again. We ate, drank wine, beer, and pomegranite cosmopolitans, laughed, and had a wonderful time. I did not bring my camera. I think it was wise :)
Happy Birthday Grandpa John!!!
We love you and look forward to doing this next year.
